Often only a soft plastic cone separates workers from danger. Annually in North America, over 1,000 fatalities and 52,000 injuries occur as a result of work zone crashes, many caused by cars and trucks that silently drift into road work zones, collapsing protective cones and barriers and hitting workers. The SonoBlaster! ® Dual Alert™ is an impact activated Work Zone Intrusion Alarm that warns both roadway workers and errant vehicle drivers at the same time to prevent crashes and injuries in highway work zones.

The SonoBlaster! ® mounts on standard work zone barricades such as traffic cones, drums, A-frames, delineators and other types of barriers.

SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE OPERATION

Upon impact by an errant vehicle, the SonoBlaster’s CO2 powered horn blasts at approximately 125 dB to signal worker that their protective zone ahs been violated allowing them critical reaction time to move out of harm’s way.

The SonoBlaster’s loud alarm can also alert distracted or drowsing drivers and allow them to steer out of the work zone or brake prior to reaching workers. Dozing drivers are a major cause of roadway and work zone crashes.

  • Shock Activation – Unit fires upon direct vehicle impact
  • Tilt Activiation – Unit fires when tilted 90º from vertical

SONOBLASTER!® WORK ZONE DEPLOYMENT

  • Cones equipped with SonoBlaster! ® units can be deployed and retrieved from a cone truck the same as standard traffic cones
  • The position of the unit’s activating arm near the top of the cone allows a cone truck “cone-setter” to easily arm a unit after setting a cone and disarm a unit prior to lifting it of the roadway.

  • Arming the SonoBlaster! ® Unit
    • Lifting the activating handle sets the unit to sound its alarm upon impact
    • Lowering the arm put the unit to ‘Safe Mode’ where it is safe to handle, store, move and nest with other cones.
  • Automatic Saftey
    • Nesting a SonoBlaster! ® cone with other cones lowers the activating handle and disarms the unit
